For a long time I stored photographic material in a  bag with the expression "La mémoire" printed on the fabric. The desire to explore the irony, the hypotheses and the ambiguities of the word memory led me to the continued photographic record of this inscription. The images of "La Mémoire" seek to highlight, in a perversely current context, some of the multiple perceptions that memory can summon: a trail in transformation that crosses the past and the future, a trace that dissipates in a suspended time, a matrix that manipulates to the point of illegibility, an archive that we inhabit but in constant erosion.

{PT] Durante muito tempo armazenei material fotográfico num  saco com a expressão "La mémoire" impressa no tecido. O desejo de explorar a ironia, as hipóteses e as ambiguidades da palavra memória conduziram-me ao registo fotográfico continuado dessa inscrição. As imagens de "La Mémoire" procuram evidenciar, num contexto perversamente actual, algumas das múltiplas percepções que a memória pode convocar: um rasto em transformação que cruza o passado e o futuro, um vestígio que se dissipa num tempo suspenso, uma matriz que se manipula até à sua ilegibilidade, um arquivo que habitamos mas em erosão constante.
